1. You can post your "60 Minutes" assignment here -- it is due by Tuesday night (as always).
2. You can also post your vocabulary sentences (and parts of speech) here -- they are due by Thursday night, since your quiz is on Friday.
3. "To America" Chapters Assignment: Here's what I want you to do with these chapters. This is also your chance to get some extra credit and raise your grade (I will give extra credit if this is done really well). I would like to go over all of the chapters, but I want YOU to be the teachers. Sometimes in teaching, you literally have 5-10 minutes to summarize something that took place over many years. This is what you will have. I overheard someone say at our last meeting that teaching was easy, so here's your chance to prove it! You all have different chapters and therefore, different topics. Some will be easier than others. You need to be the teachers for your particular chapter. You can use any tools that you know or anything else that you can think of, as long as you convey the information that is in your chapter(s). You can make up a worksheet, do a reading, lecture -- whatever you like that you don't think will bore everyone to death (please don't bore us!) They will be short lessons (5-10 minutes), as I'd like to get through all of the chapters within one or two classes. We will go in the order of the chapters, so Katherine is going to kick it off on Wednesday, followed by Justin and then Katherine again, Regina, Andrew, etc. How many chapters we get through in one class depends on you. Please limit your lesson/discussion to 10 minutes max, as we have quite a bit to get through. If you have any questions, please post them here. Below are the chapters and who has them:
Chapter 10 Katherine
Chapter 11 Justin
Chapter 12 Katherine
Chapter 13 Regina
Chapter 14 Andrew
Chapter 15 Andrew
Chapter 16 Regina
Chapter 17 Justin
Chapter 18 Andreina
Chapter 19 Randy
As a sidenote, Julie really enjoyed meeting all of you. She said that you guys were waaay smarter than we were at your age... :)
