This is a prank on a "grand" scale. Artsy people (like Ms. Rodriguez) refer to this type of art as "human art." On this day, over 200 people gathered at Grand Central Station in New York City to pull off a 'frozen in place' act. The onlooking travelers who were not part of the act were mystified as to what was going on. Click here to see why people were so baffled...

what a very interesting stunt to pull. The type of art in the video is a very fascinating demonstration of how a stunt can attract so many people. Wish I was there to see that. Very intriguing.

imagine how amazing and hard that would be . I am so surprised that they actually accomplished that. Even if one person were to move it would mess up the whole aspect of it...

I found that stunt very convincing and realistic. I was watching the video in shock and amazement while thinking, "How often do they do this? I want to see it for myself, maybe even participate." I must have been tough for the people who did not move. I enjoyed the part where the man riding in the car was honking at the lady with the banana.

This stunt was very interesting. I wonder what made them come up with this idea in the first place. I agree with Andrew. It must have took a lot of practice and commitment. It seemed like statues were just put there. I commend the people that participated in this stunt. Peope were walking up to them and the participants were dedicated enough so stand still. I am questioning if this is why people think NYC is cool. I think this just added to the coolness of NY. There are other factors that play a role in this opinion. What do you think?

That was really awesome. If I was to go to grand central with real people looking like statues, I would be shocked. How did they manage to keep so still? That was amazing, I hope they are getting paid a great about of money because i know their muscles are probably hurting from standing so still.

Regina, I don't think they got paid a darn thing - they probably just enjoyed being part of it. I never really found out who the people were that did this - it must be some sort of artistic group. The fact that people think of and do these sorts of crazy things are one of the reasons people love NYC... Keep in mind that I think I just called artists "crazy" -- please don't tell Ms. Rodriguez. :)

That was really awesome. I'm a little confused though, were the people who stood there like statues just any random person who decided to be a part of it? It was really cool though, I know that if I would of been one of the persons that had no idea of what was going on I probably would of pinched or kicked one of them to see if they moved! Ha! That would be fun!We should try something like that!
